How-To: Apply a Dual-Toned Lip
The versatile and innovative new Twist-on Lip is essentially two lipsticks in one. Each of the eight shades within the range features a lighter and darker colour, allowing you to create a multitude of different looks using just one product. As well as creating a beautiful ombré effect, it allows you to design the perfect two-toned lip. While you may think this on-trend look is limited to the catwalk, think again: our Head of Artistry Albane Laloy says it’s the perfect way to stand out from the crowd. What’s more, with eight shades from which to choose – ranging from daring pink and orange to the more understated nude and dark red – there’s a colour combination to suit everyone. Here, Albane Laloy demonstrates how to achieve the most professional two-toned pout in a few simple steps:
STEP 1: PREP LIPS
To achieve the best lip colour possible, you need a clean base. Wipe away all traces of makeup before exfoliating with our new BAUME DE ROSE lip scrub, newly launched this year. Next, apply our BAUME DE ROSE balm to moisturise and nourish lips, and give you a perfectly plump pout.
STEP 2: LIP LINER
To ensure maximum hold, define lips first using our CRAYON LÈVRES TERRYBLY lipliner.
STEP 3: APPLY UPPER LIP
For a foolproof dual-toned colour, apply the darker shade of the TWIST-ON LIP (in the colour combination of your choice) on the upper lipline before filling in the rest of the lip.
STEP 4: APPLY LOWER LIP
Apply the lighter shade across the lower lip in a single stroke.
STEP 5: VICE VERSA
For a poutier finish, apply the lighter shade of TWIST-ON LIP (in the colour combination of your choice) on the upper lipline before filling in the rest of the lip. Next, apply the darker shade across the lower lip in a single stroke.
