How-to: The Spring Smoky Eye
For spring, the beauty industry dictates that we shed our dark, heavy makeup and embrace the bright, colour-popping shades that traditionally mark this season. However, smoky eyes don’t have to be synonymous with autumn. Like a classic blazer or pair of jeans, this timeless beauty trend can be worn all year round. In a step-by-step guide, our Head of Artistry Albane Laloy explains how she refreshes the staple smoky eye for spring using BY TERRY’s new Game Lighter Palette in No.2 Pixie Nude:

Step 1: Prep Eyes
There’s nothing worse than applying eyeshadow first thing in the morning and then finding it has smudged off a few hours later. To ensure your colour stays put all day long, first prep eyes using our EYE BASE PRIME TO FIX primer.
Step 2: Conceal
Erase fine lines and dark circles with our magic STYLO-EXPERT CLICK STICK. Apply under the eyes and blend in thoroughly using your fingertips.
Step 3: Contour
For a classic, everyday look, our GAME LIGHTER PALETTE No.2 Pixie Nude – featuring five matte and shiny neutral shades – is this season’s must-have eyeshadow palette. Begin by contouring eyes using the matte taupe shade; apply to the upper eyelid and contour using the angled side of the palette brush, before blending in using the tapered side. Next, apply the matte copper tone to the upper eyelid and blend in using the tapered brush.
step 4: Shimmer
To achieve a fresh, smoky look, apply the shiny copper shade onto eyelids using your fingertips. Tap to blend evenly across the lids. Next, apply the peach shade onto the brow bone.
Step 5: Smudge
Apply the shiny copper shade using the angled brush on the lower lash line before smudging with fingertips to create a more natural effect.
Step 6: Definition
Define eyes using the dark brown matte shade, applied to the lower lash line using the angled brush. For added drama, apply our CRAYON KOHL TERRYBLY No.1 Black Print to the waterline.
Step 7: Lashes
Finish with lashings of mascara. Using our revolutionary LASH-EXPERT TWIST BRUSH, apply the lengthened brush to stretch and curl lashes. Then twist into position two to add volume without clumping.
